A Message from the Headteacher: Mrs Martine Clark
We are delighted to share the news that we have now received our Teaching School designation from the National College of Teaching and Leadership and the Department for Education.
Teaching schools give outstanding schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support.
Schools and academies applying to become teaching schools will need to give evidence of successful partnerships as well as excellent leadership with a proven track record of school improvement. Both the headteacher and the school will need to meet stringent criteria.
Schools will work together within a teaching school alliance - a group of schools and other partners that is supported by the leadership of a teaching school. This will include all those schools that benefit by receiving support, as well as strategic partners that will lead on certain aspects of delivery. Alliances may be cross phase and cross sector, work across local authorities and include different types of organisations.
Byron court is working with the following strategic partners under the name of ‘The Brent Teaching School Alliance’: Claremont High School Academy, Mount Stewart Juniors, Oliver Goldsmith Primary, Sudbury Primary, The Institute of Education, The Brent Schools Partnership and the Wembley Learning Zone at Wembley Stadium. We will also work closely with School Improvement Service in Brent. Byron Court will also continue to work as a strategic partner in the Gateway Teaching Alliance based in Enfield and the Harrow Teaching School Alliance.
