Are you a pawn or a knight?
Chess Club is a popular weekly gathering of Chess-heads from all across the school and all abilities. In our third year, we develop all chess skills and give opportunities to learn from other players. We take part in the Brent Chess Schools Tournament throughout the year and have awards for Best Player and Most Improved Player.

Rounds 6, 7 and 8
On Thursday 30th January we played 3 rounds against some very strong opposition. Unfortunately the team was down one player, but we did incredibly well against Barham A and Rimon B. We beat Princess Frederica B team 2-1 and have gained 11 points in the competition so far. Well done to Noah who won two out of three games. Fingers crossed for the last 2 rounds coming up in March!
Rounds 3, 4 and 5
Monday 2nd December 2019
All chess team members got points on the board today with games won and drawn. A heavy defeat to NWLJDS B was followed by victories against NWLJDS C team and Barham D. One of the highlights of the evening was Noah winning his game with one second to go! With 8 game points we are now 8th out of 14 teams and the half-way stage.
Well done team and keep practicing!
Rounds 1 and 2
Monday 4th November 2019
It was my first time at the tournament and at the beginning it was really exciting and scary. I found the matches very difficult. In the end it was a good experience. We played against Barham B and NWLJDS A. Well done to Noah for winning both his matches.
