Remembering the Windrush generation on the 72nd anniversary of the ship's arrival
Today, 22nd June 2020 marks the second annual Windrush Day, which was established in 2018 as a way to commemorate the arrival of The Empire Windrush, the first ship that brought people from the Caribbean to the UK. In the decades that followed, nearly half a million people from former British colonies would make a new life in the UK.
As a school, we have been and will continue to address the issues of inequality. We will do this by continuing to develop our curriculum, engaging with parents, educating our own staff team and inspiring pupils themselves to challenge, question and stamp out inequality wherever they find it.
Letters including activities have been emailed/posted on Showbie.
Happy Windrush Day!
